Qualifications

• A recognised nursing qualification with registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent credential
• Substantial experience in operating theatre or surgical recovery environment (2–3 years)
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, theatre protocols, and infection control measures
• Excellent manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; accurate record-keeping

Responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining the operating theatre environment with sterile instruments and supplies
• Assisting the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and materials
• Monitoring vital signs and patient responses during procedures
• Adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
• Maintaining accurate records of instruments, swabs, and materials used
• Providing pre- and post-operative patient care and reassurance
• Collaborating with the surgical team for smooth theatre operations
• Troubleshooting theatre equipment and reporting faults promptly
• Complying with healthcare regulations and organisational policies
