Job summary

Exal Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a driven site coordination professional to oversee daily construction activities on our Kuching project sites. You will ensure works align with drawings, specs, and requirements while coordinating with subcontractors and the internal team to keep progress on schedule.

The role requires reading construction drawings, basic knowledge of methods and sequencing, and a proactive attitude to identify and resolve issues on the ground.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; candidates with 1–3 years of site experience are an advantage.
• Able to read and understand construction drawings.
• Basic understanding of construction methods, sequencing and site coordination.
• Comfortable working full-time in a site environment.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Organised, responsible and willing to learn.
• Proactive in identifying problems and following through on solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor daily construction activities on site.
• Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications and construction requirements.
• Check site works, measurements and workmanship quality.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and the internal project team.
• Monitor work progress against the project schedule and highlight potential delays early.
• Conduct site inspections and follow up on defects or non-compliance.
• Assist in resolving technical and construction issues on site.
• Prepare and maintain site records, progress updates, inspection documentation and reports.
• Coordinate material requirements and ensure materials are available according to work progress.
• Attend site meetings and follow through on agreed action items.
• Ensure site safety requirements and proper work practices are followed.
• Take ownership of assigned works and follow through until completion.
