Job summary

Mini Circuits in Penang, Malaysia seeks an NPI Engineer to design, initiate and control manufacturing processes for new products meeting performance, quality and cost specs. You will plan and execute new semiconductor package/process introductions into mass production.

Responsibilities include leading process improvement projects, documenting procedures, training operators, and coordinating with equipment teams to qualify materials and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physics, semiconductor tech, electronic engineering or materials science.
• 1–2 years experience in NPI engineering or semiconductor industry preferred.
• Good knowledge of semiconductor assembly processes and basic RF/Microwave components.
• Familiarity with PFMEA/DFMEA and related manufacturing docs.

Responsibilities

• Drive and lead new and existing process improvement projects.
• Document processes, procedures and methods as required.
• Promote teamwork among technicians and associate engineers.
• Observe and ensure safety requirements are met.
• Train operators and technicians as required.
• Develop, qualify, monitor and improve assembly/test processes.

Designing, initiating, developing, implementing and controlling the manufacturing processes and capabilities to produce new products that meet performance specifications, quality standards and product cost requirements.

Planning, coordinating, developing and executing new semiconductor packages/processes and successfully introducing them into mass production.

Duties/Job Responsibilities:

• Drive / lead new and existing process improvement / optimization project.
• Make sound technical and business recommendation.
• Document processes, procedures, and methods as required.
• Promote teamwork and cooperation among technicians and associate engineers.
• Observe and ensure safety requirements are met.
• Train operators and technicians as required.
• Specify, select and qualify/buyoff assembly equipment.
• Develop, qualify, monitor/control, and improve assembly and test processes and methods as required.
• Work with equipment technical team to design fixtures for assembly and test processes as required.
• Select, evaluate, and qualify new materials, designs and processes as required.
• Coach and guide technician in their daily routines and activities.
• Initiate product yield improvement projects.
• Failure Analysis.
• Research and study of new packaging technologies and trends.
• Selection of materials and processes based on product requirements and applications.
• Any other job responsibilities assigned by the supervisor as and when required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in physics / semiconductor technology / electronic engineering / materials science or similar
• Preferably with 1-2 years related experience in NPI Engineering / Semiconductor Industry
• Good knowledge in semiconductor assembly processes and basic semiconductor devices such as RF and Microwave Components.
• Understanding of basic manufacturing documentation such as PFMEA, DFMEA, Process
