Job summary

SF Metal Sdn Bhd is seeking an Engineering Lead in Penang to drive engineering design and manufacturing process optimization. You will train engineers, review customer drawings, and ensure tooling, jigs, and quality requirements are met throughout product transfers to production.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain project timelines, budgets, and ECN administration, while developing manufacturing facilities and procedures for efficient production.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineers in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to manage projects, budgets, and timelines.
• Strong understanding of customer drawings, BOMs, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Leads and trains engineers in manufacturing processing and quality standards.
• Collaborates with customers and other departments to transfer new products to production.
• Maintains project status, timeline, BOM, and ECN administration.
• Responsible for engineering design and creation of manufacturing procedures, tooling, and processes.
• Coordinates with production to ensure facility layout, equipment, and tools are in place.
• Analyses customer designs to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance needs.
• Provides feedback to design teams on customer problems and needs.
• Suggests design modifications to prevent malfunctions.
• Develops and monitors production aspects including methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs.

Job Responsibilities

• To leads and train engineers in manufacturing processing, customer drawings and specifications, tooling, and jig approval and quality requirements
• Work closely with customer & other functional department to ensure smooth transferring of new product until production
• To maintain the project status, timeline, budget, Bill of Materials (BOM) and Engineering Change (ECN) administration.
• Responsible for Engineering Design and create manufacturing procedures, installation procedures, tools, services process and etc.
• Coordinate with manufacturing team to ensure the design of the manufacturing facilities for production; layout and equipment, tools, materials and etc are in place
• Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
• Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
• Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs
