Job summary

Astreya is recruiting a Network Operations Engineer I to support CDN clusters and backend network infrastructure in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment. The role emphasizes independent work with accuracy and attention to detail, handling production networks and server hardware relevant to content delivery.

Responsibilities include collaborating with ISP partners, vendor teams, and internal groups to ensure network reliability and performance, with some weekend coverage and 24/7

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 0–2 years’ related experience or training; or equivalent education/experience.
• Builds stable working relationships internally.
• Follows standard practice and procedures when analyzing situations or data.
• Understanding of fiber-optic technology including cable types, connectors, and optical transport.
• Understands root cause analysis for network/server outages; programming & scripting capabilities.
• Strong communication with service providers, vendors, and ISPs worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Understand production and corporate network and internet peering strategies.
• Understand server hardware technologies relevant to content delivery performance and capacity.
• Work on multiple vendor servers and various software/hardware issues daily.
• Assist with traffic and queries raised by ISPs/partners.
• Support team in handling switches for incidents (input errors, CRC, RMAs).
• Collaborate with ISPs/vendors to fix network-related issues.
• Participate in 24/7 global support with other teams; some weekend work may be required.

The Network Operations Engineer I is a network and server support engineer for CDN cluster environments. This position requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Scope:

• Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
• Works on problems of limited scope
• Receives detailed instructions

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

• Understanding of production and corporate network and internet peering strategies
• Understanding of server hardware technologies relative to content delivery performance and capacity
• Day-to-day activities involve working on multiple vendor servers and various software and hardware issues
• Assist with traffic and any other queries raised by ISP/partners
• Support team in handling switches for any incidents such as input errors, CRC, RMA etc.
• Work with ISP/vendors on fixing any issues related to network
• Participate in 24/7 support with other teams across the globe. Some weekend work may be required.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 0 to 2 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Builds stable working relationships internally
• Follows standard practice and procedures when analyzing situations or data
• Understanding of fiber-optic technology including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies
• Understanding of preparing root cause analysis for any network and server outages Programming and scripting capabilities
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with service providers, colocation facilities, and ISPs around the world

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a multi-vendor network environment.
