Job summary

Astreya is seeking a Network Operations Engineer I to support global production CDN deployments and related network/server systems. The role requires collaborating with service providers, ISPs and partners to maintain performance and reliability.

You will work with multi-vendor environments and contribute to root-cause analysis for outages. Responsibilities include monitoring networks, assisting with traffic management, and participating in 24/7 globally coordinated support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 0–2 years' related experience or equivalent
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with global service providers
• Programming and scripting capabilities for network/server troubleshooting and automation
• Understanding of fiber-optic technology and network/server outage root-cause analysis

Responsibilities

• Provide support for global production CDN deployments
• Understand production networks and internet peering strategies
• Understand server hardware relevant to CDN performance and capacity
• Handle issues across multiple vendor servers and various software/hardware problems
• Assist with traffic and inquiries from ISPs/partners
• Support switching during incidents (CRC, input errors, RMA)
• Collaborate with ISPs/vendors to resolve network issues
• Participate in 24/7 global support with teams around the world
• Occasional weekend work may be required
• Perform other duties as required

What this Job Entails:

The Network Operations Engineer I is a network and server support engineer for CDN cluster environments. This position requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Scope:

Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues Works on problems of limited scope Receives detailed instructions

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide support for global production content delivery network deployments
• Understanding of production and corporate network and internet peering strategies
• Understanding of server hardware technologies relative to content delivery performance and capacity
• Day-to-day activities involve working on multiple vendor servers and various software and hardware issues
• Assist with traffic and any other queries raised by ISP/partners
• Support team in handling switches for any incidents such as input errors, CRC, RMA etc.
• Work with ISP/vendors on fixing any issues related to network
• Participate in 24/7 support with other teams across the globe
• Some weekend work may be required
• Other duties as required

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 0 to 2 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Builds stable working relationships internally
• Follows standard practice and procedures when analyzing situations or data
• Understanding of fiber-optic technology including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies
• Understanding of preparing root cause analysis for any network and server outages
• Programming and scripting capabilities
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with service providers, colocation facilities, and ISPs around the world

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a multi-vendor network environment.
• Network certifications, including server level certifications
