Job summary

Sophic Automation Sdn Bhd in Penang/Bayan Lepas is seeking an IT Infrastructure professional to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot network cabling, switches, and core lab IT systems. You’ll monitor storage servers, manage data repositories, and optimize hardware allocations to ensure uptime for validation environments.

You’ll be the go-to for network issues, coordinate with validation teams and external MSPs, and document topologies and procedures in SharePoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, CS, Network Engineering, or related field.
• 2–4+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure, servers or localized networks.
• Strong proficiency in network configuration, LAN installations, and switch management.
• Experience with data storage systems, file transfer protocols, and automated monitoring.
• Direct familiarity with ticketing/workflow platforms such as ServiceNow or Azure DevOps.
• Excellent analytical problem-solving and clear cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot network cabling, switches, and core lab IT infrastructure.
• Monitor and manage storage servers and data repositories to safeguard engineering data.
• Track and optimize infrastructure inventory and server allocations.
• Supervise real-time file transfers and perform root-cause analysis for interruptions.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance, firmware updates, and health checks on lab systems.
• Act as primary technical contact for escalated network connectivity issues and LAN configurations.
• Collaborate with validation teams and MSPs to scale lab IT infrastructure.
• Document network topologies and changes in central knowledge bases like SharePoint.
