Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an MIS Network Engineer to design, implement, and secure the organization's IT networks and infrastructure in Johor Bahru.

You will configure LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, and servers, monitor performance, and provide helpdesk support while coordinating with vendors and maintaining data protection practices.

Diploma or degree in IT/CS and 1–3 years of relevant experience are preferred; CCNA or similar certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field
• Certifications preferred: CCNA, CompTIA Network+/Security+, MCSA, or similar
• 1–3+ years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN and wireless network infrastructure
• Install and manage network hardware: routers, switches, firewalls, and servers
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal downtime
• Implement and maintain network security measures (firewalls, antivirus, access control)
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and system access (Active Directory / domain management)
• Perform regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and data protection procedures
• Maintain and support IT hardware and software, including laptops, desktops, and printers
• Handle IT asset management, including issuance and clearance of equipment
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for staff (helpdesk support)
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software procurement, licensing, and maintenance contracts
• Document network configurations, IT policies, and procedures; ensure compliance with IT security policies and data protection regulations
• Support system upgrades, migrations, and new IT project implementations
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• Experience with network hardware (Cisco, HP, Fortinet, etc.)
• Familiarity with Windows Server / Active Directory administration
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Knowledge of virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) is a plus
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Good communication skills for coordinating with staff and vendors
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize IT support requests
