Job summary

Raffles American School in Johor is seeking a Classroom Assistant to support teachers by supervising activities and working with children in individual, class, or small-group settings. You will help develop learning activities, prepare materials, assist with outings and sports events, monitor interactions, and provide feedback to teachers.

Fluency in English and Mandarin is valued to communicate with diverse families.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Child Education or relevant certificates.
• Experience with diverse cultures and classrooms.
• Ability to manage diverse groups and handle challenging behavior.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin; other languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by supervising activities and working with children.
• Develop programmes of learning activities and adapt materials.
• Prepare for activities including outings and sports events.
• Support teachers in the classroom with instructions and guidance.
• Monitor interactions and provide feedback to teachers.
• Assist with marking, correction work and record keeping.
• Provide extra help to children with special needs or those for whom English is not their first language.
• Carry out administrative duties such as preparing classroom materials.
