Job summary

Monitoring Assistant (Command Center) (MALE)

The Control Tower is responsible for providing centralized operational control, visibility, coordination, and exception management across land transportation activities. The role acts as the key coordination point between transport operations, updating customers, Monitoring driver’s movement, Temperature monitoring to ensure the safe, efficient and timely movement of goods.

The position will monitor transport execution in real time, proactively identify operational risks and deviations, coordinate corrective actions, and provide accurate and timely information to relevant stakeholders.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Monitor daily land transportation activities from vehicle dispatch through delivery completion.
• 2. Track vehicle movements, shipment status, estimated arrival times, and delivery milestones.
• 3. Ensure transportation activities are executed according to agreed schedules, service levels, and operational procedures.
• 4. Maintain real-time visibility of fleet and shipment movements through the Transport Management System (TMS), GPS, or other tracking platforms.
• 5. Monitor driver and carrier compliance with planned routes, schedules, and transportation requirements.
• 6. Proactively identify delays, route deviations, vehicle breakdowns, missed collections, failed deliveries, and other transportation exceptions.
• 7. Coordinate immediate corrective actions with transporters, drivers, warehouses, customers, and relevant internal teams.
• 8. Coordinate with warehouses and distribution centers regarding loading, unloading, dock availability, and shipment readiness.
• 9. Ensure communication of changes to transport plans is timely and accurate.
• 10. Provide timely shipment and delivery status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• 11. Manage operational escalations and ensure appropriate follow-up until resolution.
• 12. Establish effective communication between Control Tower, Transport Operations, Customer Service, Warehouse, Planning, and other relevant functions.
• 13. Ensure transport operations comply with company policies, customer requirements, legal requirements, and applicable transportation regulations.
• 14. Escalate safety incidents, accidents, regulatory concerns, and major operational risks immediately.
• 15. Recommend improvements to transportation workflows, systems, reporting, and communication processes.

Knowledge/Experience :

• i) Able to use system to monitor trucks.
• ii) Able to escal… abnormalities to operation/workshop.

Skills :

• i) Able to monitor by GPS and update shipment fulfillment and status
• ii) Real-time monitoring & visibility, track shipments, vehicles status.
• iii) Know what needs immediate escalation. Transportation planning.
