Job summary

JD MEGA INTERNATIONAL is seeking an experienced Mining Site Development Manager in Kuantan, Pahang, to lead planning, coordination, and execution of mining site development projects. You will report to senior management and ensure safe, compliant, on-time delivery from conception to completion.

The role requires 8+ years in site development or project management, with mining/heavy construction experience, and strong leadership, communication, and HSE knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; equivalent experience acceptable.
• Minimum of 8 years in site development or project management, with at least 5 years in mining/heavy construction.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate mining site development activities including site prep and infrastructure installation.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
• Oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance on site with rigorous safety protocols.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers for quality work and timely delivery.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including reports and risk assessments.
• Liaise with government agencies and authorities to obtain permits and approvals.
• Lead and supervise site teams, providing direction and performance feedback.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mining Site Development Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in Kuantan, Pahang. This is a pivotal position within our construction and project management division, responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of mining site development projects. As Mining Site Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all site development activities are delivered efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. You will report directly to senior management and have direct accountability for the successful delivery of assigned mining development projects from conception through to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate all mining site development activities, including site preparation, infrastructure installation, and operational facility construction
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within allocated financial parameters
• Oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance on site, implementing and maintaining rigorous safety protocols and regulatory standards
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure work quality and timely delivery of materials and services
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress monitoring, identifying and resolving issues promptly to prevent delays
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, risk assessments, and compliance records
• Liaise with government agencies, local authorities, and environmental bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals
• Manage stakeholder communications, providing regular project updates to senior management and relevant parties
• Implement quality assurance protocols and ensure all work meets industry standards and client specifications
• Lead and supervise site teams, providing direction, training, and performance feedback to ensure effective project delivery

What we’re looking for

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in mining or construction project management
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in site development or project management, with at least 5 years specifically in mining or heavy construction environments
• Proven expertise in managing large-scale mining site development projects from planning through completion
• Strong knowledge of mining operations, site infrastructure requirements, and mining regulatory frameworks in Malaysia
• Demonstrable experience in managing project budgets, resources, and timelines for complex projects
• Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices in mining and construction
• Advanced proficiency in project management software and tools, with strong computer and analytical skills
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and supervise diverse site teams
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with government bodies, contractors, and senior management
• A valid driving licence and willingness to spend significant time on-site in Kuantan, Pahang
• Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or project management qualifications (PMP or equivalent) are highly desirable
