SARAWAK OIL PALMS BERHAD is seeking a proactive Mill Maintenance Engineer or Assistant to support maintenance and daily operations of our palm oil mills in a rural setting. You will contribute to reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/chemical engineering and at least 2 years of maintenance experience in palm oil or similar process industries; fresh graduates may join as Management Trainee and relocate if needed.
We are seeking a proactive and capable Mill Maintenance Engineer or Assistant to support the maintenance and daily operations of our palm oil mills. This role is ideal for engineers who are ready to work in a rural mill environment and contribute to operational reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for mill machinery and equipment.
Monitor the condition and performance of mechanical equipment to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
Ensure maintenance work is completed on schedule and in accordance with required quality standards.
Conduct routine inspections of boilers, turbines, sterilizers, presses, digesters, conveyors, pumps, and other mill equipment.
Support the supervision of daily palm oil milling operations.
Monitor mill throughput, production efficiency, and equipment availability.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies, statutory requirements, and established procedures.
Support compliance with certification requirements, including ISCC, MESTI, MSPO, and GCL.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 2 years of experience in maintenance or engineering within the palm oil industry or a similar process industry is preferred.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply as Management Trainee.
Willing to relocate and work in a rural area.
Willing to work on weekends, public holidays, and night shifts on a standby basis.
Strong problem-solving skills, a responsible work attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
