Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks a Laboratory QA/Microbiology professional with 3–5 years in food or FMCG. You will ensure ISO 17025 compliance, manage equipment and materials, and certify COAs. Proficient English and BM are required.

The role includes data analysis, reporting, and liaison with customers regarding test results, with opportunities to contribute to QA KPIs and food safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Food Science or similar.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Quality Policy and ISO/IEC 17025 are implemented effectively across the laboratory.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal QA/QC protocols.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment (sterilizers, microscopes, incubators, instruments); manage supplies and inventory.
• Verify and certify Certificate of Analysis as signatory authorized by Standards Malaysia.
• Plan, coordinate and conduct daily routine laboratory activities.
• Record results in worksheets/logbooks; data verified by second competent person/Lab Manager.
• Collect and analyze data from experiments; prepare reports and COA.
• Communicate testing results to customers.
• Cultivate and grow microorganisms for method validation; isolate strains and maintain cultures.
• Verify reception and storage of chemicals/reagents/equipment.
• Contribute to defining and following up on quality KPIs.
• Report food safety and quality issues to superior.

Job description

Ensuring the Quality Policy and Objectives and procedures are implemented effectively throughout the laboratory and comply with MS ISO/IEC 17025.

Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality control protocol is an essential part of the job.

Ensuring proper functioning and maintenance of laboratory equipment, including sterilizers, microscopes, incubators and specialized instruments. May also manage and order laboratory supplies and maintain records and inventory.

Verifying and certifying the Certificate of Analysis (an approved signatory by STANDARDS MALAYSIA).

Planning, coordinating and conducting daily routine activities as assigned.

Recording and maintaining the testing result in the worksheet / logbook which will be verified by second competent person / Laboratory Manager.

Collecting and analyzing data from experiment, observations and tests. Interpreting the results, drawing conclusions, preparing reports and issuing Certificates of Analysis.

Communicating with the customers pertaining to testing results.

Able to cultivate and grow microorganisms in laboratory setting. They may isolate specific strains, maintain microbial cultures and optimized growth condition for method validation usage.

Verifying reception and storage of chemical / reagent / equipment used for the technical operations of the laboratory.

Contributing to define and following up on quality KPIs.

Reporting food safety and quality related issues to superior.

Are you the one?

Bachelors Degree in Microbiology, Food Science or similar.

3 to 5 years experience in food industry and or FMCG business.

Possess Food Analyst Certificate registered with Ministry of Health Malaysia or qualified Microbiologist is preferable.

Proficient in English and BM.

Experience in ISO17025 certified laboratory testing and instrumentation.

Good understanding of QA/QC disciplines in food processing plant and or FMCG manufacturing business, GMP, HACCP, ISO standards.

Knowledge in SAP are advantageous.
