Job summary

Farm Fresh Berhad is seeking a Microbiology/Lab professional to join our quality team at Muadzam Shah, Pahang. You will conduct microbiology tests on raw milk, finished goods, and related samples, and compile daily QA reports for internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires a degree in Biology/Microbiology/Science (or diploma for Microbiologist Assistant) with at least 2 years of microbiology experience and knowledge of GLP, HACCP, and Halal standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biology / Microbiology / Science or equivalent.
• Diploma in Biology / Microbiology / Science for Microbiologist Assistant.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Microbiology.
• Good knowledge of GLP, HACCP & Halal standards and requirements.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform microbiology tests (TPC, Coliform, Thermophilic, Yeast and Mold, spore count, micro identification).
• Perform periodic microbiology testing for air, surface, swab and handler samples.
• Review SOPs and work instructions related to microbe testing.
• Compile daily QA microbe test reports and update stakeholders.
• Assist in sample preparation for in-house and external lab testing.
• Monitor lab inventory and liaise with purchasing for materials.
• Assist calibration of lab equipment and internal calibration.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and equipment.
• Assist with quality audits and other duties as assigned by superior.

Job description

To prepare and perform the microbe testing such as TPC, Coliform, Thermophilic, Yeast and Mold, psychotropic, spore count, micro identification wherever applicable on raw milk, flavoured raw milk, raw material, final rinse water sample, swab sample, and finished good product.

Periodically perform microbiology laboratory testing for air test, food contact surface and food handlers hand swab test

To assist in reviewing the SOPs and work instructions related to microbe testing.

To perform and compile daily QA microbe test reports and update results to the related parties

To assist superior to prepare all in-house/external lab test samples and any documentation needed related to the external lab and key account personnel.

Monitor inventory of the microbiology lab and liaise with purchasing personnel to ensure that all materials and consumables are sufficient for daily testing.

To assist with calibration activity for all lab equipment’s including conducting internal calibration for necessary equipment.

Ensure that all work areas are kept clean and tidy as well as ensure that all equipment and instrumentation is cleaned properly and in good condition.

To assist in the quality audits on interval basis and liaise with external.

Perform any other duties assigned by Superior.

Qualification: Education/Experience:

Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Biology / Microbiology / Science or equivalent. For Microbiologist Assistant, should have minimum Diploma in Biology /Microbiology / Science or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years of experience in Microbiology

Have good knowledge of GLP, HACCP & Halal standard and requirement.

Good interpersonal and communication skills, in verbal and written for English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Good computer skills especially with Microsoft Office i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
