Job summary

Turn To Human is seeking an Electrical Draftsperson to support project teams in Genting Highlands. You will translate engineer designs into layouts, prepare wiring diagrams, and produce shop and as-built drawings for data centre and commercial buildings.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and 1–3 years of drafting experience, proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and Dialux, and able to interpret technical drawings with accuracy and pace.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project team, engineers, consultants, and site personnel.
• Work independently to meet project deadlines.
• Analyze drawings and prepare electrical system layouts and plans.
• Create shop drawings, as-built drawings, and construction drawings.
• Verify calculations and ensure unit accuracy against design data.
• Review drafts with project managers and clients.
• Produce wiring diagrams for Data Centre and commercial buildings.
• Prepare drawings for submission to clients, authorities, etc.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and tabulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Good communication and coordination skills with project team, engineers, consultants, and site personnel
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and meet project deadlines
• (a) Analyzing technical drawings, interpreting specifications and quantities for tender bidding & procurement, and determining the electrical requirements of a given project.
• (b) Create accurate, detailed technical plans for electrical systems using computer-aided design programs to convert specifications and design information from engineers into layout, schematics, and blueprints.
• (c) Collect, study, and combine rough sketches and initial design ideas from engineers into coherent technical drafts for further study and review by Clients.
• (d) Prepare comprehensive wiring diagrams for electrical equipment, Data Centre, and commercial buildings according to project objectives, design information and engineering specifications.
• (e) Responsible for preparing and producing shop drawings, as-built drawings and/or construction drawings in accordance with engineers’ requirements.
• (f) Check that final technical drafts include all relevant information in an easy-to-read format, and verify that calculations, measurements, and units are accurate based on initial design information from engineers.
• (g) Review technical drafts as needed according to verbal or written instructions from project managers, engineering team and clients.
• (h) Participate in design process/Shop drawing/As built, contributing ideas and information, and creating rough sketches and diagrams of electrical wiring and systems.
• (i) To prepare all the technical drawings / layout for any submission to client, consultant, authorities, and other related parties
• (j) Perform basic engineering calculation and tabulation.
• (k) Any ad-hoc tasks that may be needed or assigned by Management from time to time

Requirements

• Minimum Certificate / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or related field
• At least 1–3 years of working experience in electrical drafting, M&E, or construction industry (fresh graduates with relevant skills may be considered)
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux or other relevant drafting software
• Able to prepare and revise electrical drawings, single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, layout plans, and shop drawings
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, lighting layout, power distribution, and technical specifications
• Able to interpret technical drawings, consultant designs, and project requirements accurately
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management
