Job summary

PMG Healthcare Sdn. Bhd. in Yong Peng, Johor, seeks a qualified Medical Officer to join our primary healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Qualified medical degree (MD/MBBS or equivalent).
• Current and valid MMC registration or equivalent.
• Mandatory medical training/certifications as required by local regulations.
• Strong clinical knowledge in general medicine and primary care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient consultations and clinical examinations.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions per guidelines.
• Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments.
• Maintain accurate medical records for all encounters.
• Perform minor clinical procedures as needed in general practice.
• Provide health promotion and disease prevention advice.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals for coordinated care.
• Refer patients to specialists when clinically indicated.
• Participate in quality improvement and clinic protocol development.

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Medical Officer to join our healthcare team at our Yong Peng facility in Johor. This is a full‑time position offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic primary healthcare setting where you will have a direct and meaningful impact on patient care and community health outcomes. As a Medical Officer, you will be at the forefront of delivering general medical services, managing a diverse range of patient presentations, and contributing to the overall success of our medical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive patient consultations and clinical examinations to assess medical conditions
• Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence‑based clinical practices
• Prescribing appropriate medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines and regulations
• Maintaining detailed and accurate medical records for all patient encounters
• Performing minor clinical procedures as required within general practice settings
• Providing health promotion, disease prevention and patient education advice
• Collaborating with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
• Referring patients to specialists or secondary care facilities when clinically indicated
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of clinical protocols
• Adhering to all relevant medical, ethical and legal standards in clinical practice

What we’re looking for

• Valid medical degree from a recognised institution (MD, MBBS or equivalent qualification)
• Current and valid medical registration with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) or equivalent regulatory body
• Completion of mandatory medical training and certifications as required by local healthcare regulations
• Strong clinical knowledge and competence in general medicine and primary healthcare practice
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations
• Demonstrated ability to work independently whilst maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues
• High level of professionalism, integrity and commitment to patient confidentiality
• Proficiency in Malay, English and Mandarin language. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin‑speaking clients.
• Previous experience working in primary healthcare or general practice settings is preferred
• Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping abreast of current medical literature and best practices
