Job summary

SK Nexilis Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical (Steam) Engineer to ensure safe operation and compliance of steam boilers and related systems in our factory. You will monitor performance, plan maintenance, and coordinate inspections to uphold safety and energy efficiency.

This role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and a valid DOSH Steam Engineer Certificate, plus hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting. You will work with contractors and internal teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Valid DOSH Steam Engineer Certificate of Competency required.
• Experience operating steam boilers in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of boiler safety standards and regulations.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Mechanical (Steam) Engineer is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and compliance of steam boilers and related mechanical systems in the factory. This role ensures all steam equipment operates efficiently and meets Malaysian regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

Operate, supervise, and maintain steam boilers and steam systems.

Ensure compliance with DOSH regulations and legal requirements.

Monitor boiler performance, pressure, and safety systems.

Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.

Coordinate boiler inspections, testing, and Certificate of Fitness (CF) renewal.

Investigate and report any boiler or mechanical issues.

Liaise with contractors, vendors, and authorities when required.

Maintain proper documentation, logs, and records.

Support factory safety, energy efficiency, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Valid Steam Engineer Certificate of Competency (DOSH) is mandatory.

Experience in steam boiler operation within a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of boiler safety standards and regulations.

Basic understanding of mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.

Good communication and teamwork skills.
