Job summary

Exyte Malaysia in Penang seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to plan, coordinate, supervise, and execute mechanical installation activities for semiconductor tool installation and high-technology projects.

The role collaborates with the Project Manager, Mechanical Manager, supervisors, subcontractors, tool vendors, consultants, clients, and other MEP disciplines to ensure successful project execution, compliance with drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) or Diploma with substantial project experience.
• Experience in mechanical installation, testing, commissioning, and handover on high-technology projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical and process utility systems; HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, vacuum, process exhaust, UPW.
• HSE certifications such as Working at Height, Confined Space, LOTO, Hot Work, Permit-to-Work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee mechanical works from engineering through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and vendor documentation; coordinate interfaces with other MEP systems.
• Coordinate mechanical tool hook-up activities and ensure facility utilities are installed and tested.
• Supervise subcontractors and site teams; monitor manpower, materials, productivity, quality, and progress; resolve technical issues.
• Manage RFIs, technical submissions, material approvals, inspection requests, progress reports, punch lists, as-built information, and project handover documentation.
• Ensure all mechanical works comply with HSE requirements, approved method statements, and permit-to-work requirements.
