Job summary

Motorola Solutions seeks an Intern Mechanical Hardware Engineer in Penang to design and develop mechanical sub-systems for mission-critical products. You will work with a team of engineers to meet MIL-STD/ETSI specs, leveraging CAD for plastic parts, sheet metal, castings and elastomers, and ensure hardware-software integration during development.

You should hold a Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent, be independent, communicative, and capable of debugging with simulations and hardware

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Team-focused and highly self-motivated.
• Strong debugging with simulation test-benches, hardware emulation, and verification.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop highly sophisticated communications products for professional and mission-critical markets.
• Develop Mechanical Sub-Systems to meet MIL-STD/ETSI specifications.
• Create overall mechanical system concepts with CAD for components such as plastic parts, sheet metal stampings, castings, rubber and elastomers.
• Coordinate with Electrical Hardware and Software teams for electro-mechanical integration during product development.
• Provide engineering analysis using DFSS, finite element/CFD methods, and validate with experimental data.
