Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical systems in data centres (e.g. HVAC, chillers, cooling towers).
• Perform preventive maintenance and performance checks on mechanical assets.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify abnormalities, and troubleshoot failures to prevent service interruptions.
• Support incident response and restoration activities involving cooling and other mechanical infrastructure.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for servicing, repairs, overhaul works, and replacement activities.
• Review maintenance findings and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, breakdowns, and corrective actions.
• Ensure all works comply with site operating procedures, safety requirements, and engineering standards.
• Support cross-functional coordination during shutdowns, expansion works, audits, and commissioning.
• Reports to the Operations Manager and functionally supports the Building Manager.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Role Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of mechanical systems supporting data centre and facility operations, especially cooling and HVAC infrastructure. This role ensures system availability, energy performance, safety compliance, and timely resolution of mechanical issues.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a data centre, critical facility, industrial plant, or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and cooling infrastructure operations.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and control interfaces is an advantage.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving ability.
• Willing to work in Seremban/Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.
