Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a manufacturing design engineer to create detailed CAD drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and Inventor in Kedah, Malaysia. You will calculate dimensions, prepare sketches, and collaborate with sales and engineering to meet product and process requirements.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in manufacturing/industrial engineering and 3–5 years of relevant experience; FRP design is a plus. Strong GD&T and BOM routing skills plus SAP integration are expected.

Follow specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.

Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work layout with computer-aided design software systems.

Calculate dimensions, weights limitations and requirements in materials.

Design diagrams and layouts to illustrate technical workflow.

Communicate with sales team and engineers to incorporate the system design, product and structural requirements including products’ knowledge gained into drawings.

Prepare, review and redraft alongside the engineering team.

Identify and communicate potential design problems to the respective department such as sales, project, Manufacturing, QC and engineering team.

Ensure the final designs are compliant with customer requirements, regulations and quality standards.

Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers together with engineers if necessary.

Create manuals that describe existing products and systems operation, features and maintenance with respective department.

Must be able to design, create and organize e-filing system for each project or product drawing for traceability and viewing including the revision made.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.

3-5 years’ relevant work experience in an industry or field.

Excellent in computer-aided design software applications in AutoCAD and Inventor. Good experience in designing FRP Product will be an added advantage.

Proficient in all aspects of technical and material designs, dimensions, and procedures.

Able to demonstrate impeccable attention to detail and have sound knowledge of the discipline that drafted for.

Preferably in areas with high mix low volume in metal fabrication for the semi-conductor, automotive or aerospace industries.

Strong & well known about BOM & ROUTING and create into SAP system.

Proficient with principle of technical drawing.

Proficient knowledge of GD&T.

Excellent Communication & Collaboration – both verbal and written.

Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem solving.

Collaborative working style and team-player attitude.

Able to work independently with little supervision.

Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
