Job summary

Fengshi Metal Technology Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an engineering professional to develop and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using SOLIDWORKS, with emphasis on manufacturability and cost reduction.

You'll design for sheet metal, stamping, machining, welding, and assembly, review customer specs, and support changes across prototype to mass production while collaborating with multiple departments.

Job description

Develop and modify 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SOLIDWORKS or similar CAD software.

Review customer drawings, specifications, and requirements to ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing.

Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and production efficiency.

Develop product and manufacturing processes for sheet metal, stamping, machining, welding, and assembly.

Work closely with Production, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, and other departments to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.

Provide engineering support during prototype, first article, and mass production stages.

Review and update engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and other technical documents.

Support new product development and engineering changes, including preparation of ECN/ECR where required.

Identify opportunities to improve product design, reduce material usage, manufacturing cost, and production lead time.

Communicate with customers on technical requirements, drawing clarification, and design-related issues when required.

Ensure engineering documents and drawings comply with customer requirements and company standards.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.

Experience in sheet metal fabrication, precision manufacturing, or related industries will be an advantage.

Proficient in SOLIDWORKS or other 3D CAD software.

Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.

Experience in preparing 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.

Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.

Knowledge of DFM and manufacturing processes.

Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Able to work independently and manage multiple engineering tasks effectively.
