This is a fantastic opportunity to build a meaningful engineering career with a well‑established chemical manufacturing company in Johor. You will play a key role in keeping critical factory equipment running at its best, leading projects, and developing your technical expertise across a wide range of mechanical systems. Whether you are an experienced engineer or just starting your career, this role offers real responsibility, exposure to complex operations, and strong room to grow.

What you'll be doing?
  • Equipment Maintenance — Take ownership of planning and executing the upkeep of mechanical equipment and facilities, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted factory operations.
  • Project Management — Lead projects end-to-end by developing technical specifications, managing timelines and budgets, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Failure Investigation — Diagnose faulty or underperforming equipment, identify root causes, and recommend practical remedies to minimise costly downtime.
  • Spare Parts Supervision — Oversee the management of critical mechanical equipment spare parts, including inventory oversight and timely replenishment.
  • Reporting — Prepare clear and accurate weekly and monthly mechanical reports for management review, keeping stakeholders well‑informed.
  • Emergency Response — Respond swiftly and decisively during equipment breakdowns or abnormal factory events to restore safe and efficient operations.
Who are they looking for?
  • Engineering Qualification — A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology provides the right foundation for this role.
  • Relevant Experience — Between 1 to 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering within a manufacturing or chemical plant environment is ideal; candidates with no prior experience are welcomed to apply if they bring a strong academic background.
  • Technical Knowledge — Familiarity with equipment vibration analysis and mechanical systems in an industrial setting will be a strong advantage.
  • Language Proficiency — Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken) is required to communicate effectively across teams and produce professional reports. Proficiency in Mandarin is also highly valued, as the role involves regular communication with Mandarin‑speaking counterparts and stakeholders.
  • Factory or Plant Experience (Advantageous) — Prior hands‑on experience in equipment maintenance, failure investigation, rotating equipment, or spare parts management within a chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing environment would be a great asset.
  • Project Coordination (Advantageous) — Experience in project management, including specification development, budget tracking, and coordinating with cross‑functional teams in an industrial setting, would further strengthen a candidate's profile.
Why you should consider this opportunity?

Our client offers an attractive remuneration package and other benefits, such as:

  • Competitive Salary — A monthly salary ranging from MYR 4,500 to MYR 6,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Annual Leave — 8 days of annual leave to support your work‑life balance, with further details to be confirmed during the offer stage.
  • Overtime Compensation — Overtime claims can be rewarded in cash or replacement leave, giving flexibility in how your extra effort is recognised.
  • Career Growth — Real opportunities for professional development and career progression within a growing manufacturing organisation.
  • Hands‑On Experience — Gain meaningful exposure to critical mechanical systems and operations in a dynamic factory environment.

We welcome all individuals who are passionate about engineering and eager to make an impact — your drive and enthusiasm matter just as much as your background. All information received will be kept strictly confidential and will be used only for employment‑related purposes.
