Job summary
Industrial Quality Management Sdn Bhd, based in Shah Alam, is seeking a dedicated Production Planning & Engineering Assistant to support maintenance and optimization of stamping presses and injection molding machines. You will help ensure machinery reliability, reduce downtime and drive continuous improvement on the production floor.
The role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a desire to grow within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Professional Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with machine calibration, lubrication, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Team player with effective communication skills.
- Proactive, organized, and able to follow technical procedures accurately.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to Production and Engineering teams on daily manufacturing activities.
- Troubleshoot production and technical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Assist in identifying root causes of technical and production problems.
- Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor technical issues and ensure proper follow-up until closure.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure they meet technical and production requirements.
- Assist in improving production processes, work methods and process efficiency.
- Support process optimisation and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Assist in monitoring machine, tooling and process performance.
- Ensure technical standards and work instructions are properly followed.
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities in line with production demands.
- Monitor machine performance and report inefficiencies or technical deviations.
- Support optimisation of machine settings and production processes to enhance efficiency and output.

- Assist in preparing technical documents, process flow, work instructions and related engineering records.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure project requirements are achieved.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety and cost.
- Assist in reducing production downtime, rejection, scrap and process variation.
- Propose practical technical solutions to improve manufacturing performance.
- Prepare technical reports, analysis and engineering documentation.
- Maintain proper records of technical issues, improvements and corrective actions.
- Prepare regular updates on assigned technical projects and activities.
- Ensure engineering documents are properly controlled and updated.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records, including repair logs and parts replacements.
