Job summary

Arup Malaysia is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to perform hands-on concept and detailed mechanical design for data center projects, providing calculations, drawings and specifications.

You will manage small project teams, liaise with clients and other engineers, and contribute to project monitoring and delivery within the MEP team. Arup offers a structured career plan and a competitive rewards package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • At least 6 years of detailed mechanical design experience in an engineering consultancy.
  • Data Center design experience is preferred.

The Opportunity
  • Hands on concept and detailed Mechanical design for a range of projects including Data Center.
  • Provide design calculations, drawings and specifications.
  • Project and team administration duties as well as producing project related correspondence and reports.
  • Work directly with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision. Develop and maintain good relationships with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants and construction contractors relevant to the MEP team’s activities.
  • Management of small project teams where you will endeavor to develop and administer project monitoring, control mechanisms, and deliver quality work within the MEP team.

Is this role right for you?
  • Recognized relevant tertiary qualifications in Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 6 years of detailed mechanical design experience with an engineering consultancy.
  • With Data Center Design experience
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant local and international legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.
