Job summary

Arup Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Technical Director - Structural to lead the Property (Central) Structures team, driving technical excellence, client engagement, and strategic operations across Malaysian projects.

This role requires a Structural Engineering degree with PEPC registration, proven tall-building leadership, and strong commercial acumen to grow the business and guide project outputs. Mentoring and cross-disciplinary collaboration are key to success.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Structural Engineering and PEPC registration with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia.
  • Extensive leadership experience in structural design for tall buildings and consultancy.
  • Strong commercial acumen to drive profitability and identify market trends.
  • Excellent communication and strategic thinking; able to influence clients and stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of the Malaysian market and a wide professional network.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and grow a structural engineering team focused on property and tall building projects.
  • Drive business development by identifying opportunities, building client relationships, and strengthening market presence.
  • Guide the delivery of complex structural designs with emphasis on quality, sustainability, and compliance.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-impact team culture.
  • Represent Arup at industry events and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across disciplines.

Arup is seeking an experienced Technical Director - Structural to head our Property (Central) Structures team in Kuala Lumpur, driving technical excellence, business growth, and team development. Is this role right for you?
