Job summary

Charoen Pokphand Group Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to plan, coordinate, and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for plant equipment. You will troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and implement changes to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

Based in Penang, you will review drawings and specifications, manage spare parts, and work with operations to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Good knowledge of mechanical equipment and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork with operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and take corrective action to minimise downtime.
• Investigate breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency.
• Prepare, review, and update technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
• Support installation, commissioning, and performance evaluation of plant equipment.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for maintenance materials/services.
• Ensure maintenance work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor maintenance costs and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve operations.
• Lead continuous improvement and innovation projects related to plant maintenance.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions

Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with operations teams

Knowledge of workplace safety practices and maintenance procedures

At least 5 years of experience in plant maintenance or a manufacturing environment, or fresh graduate
