Job summary

EHH Food Industry Sdn. Bhd. is hiring a Maintenance Technician to ensure functionality, reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant machinery and facilities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field is preferred.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years in Engineering or Maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with industrial automation, PLC, sensors, VFDs, and control panels is advantageous.
• Able to perform electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs on production machinery.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, conveyors, motors, and pneumatics.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings and control schematics.
• Experience using testing instruments like multimeters and clamp meters.

Responsibilities

• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance on plant machinery and facilities.
• Carry out scheduled PMs to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Record maintenance activities in Excel or other systems and update machine histories.
• Report daily maintenance activities and breakdown analyses to supervisors.
• Maintain tools, spares, and equipment and participate in improvement projects.
• Ensure hygiene and safety standards in food production areas and use PPE.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring functionality, reliability, safety, and efficiency of all plant machinery, equipment, facilities, and support systems through repairing, installation, preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. This role includes continuous improvement initiatives, accurate maintenance reporting, and strict compliance with safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) to minimize machine breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
• Perform corrective maintenance and repair work on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot machine failures and identify root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure all machines and equipment operate within safe and optimal conditions.
• Respond promptly to breakdown calls and production support requests.
• Maintain tools, spare parts, and maintenance equipment in good condition.
• Participate in machine improvement projects to increase reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Propose and implement improvements to reduce breakdown frequency and maintenance cost.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Record all maintenance activities accurately in excel of other recording material.
• Update machine history records after each repair or modification.
• Report daily maintenance activities and breakdown analysis to the Superior.
• Monitor spare parts usage and inform store when stock level is low.
• Assist in preparing maintenance reports and KPI data.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping, especially in food production areas.
• Use proper PPE at all times during maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and food safety requirements.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and hazards immediately.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment is highly preferred
• Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in an Engineering or Maintenance Department within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in industrial automation, PLC systems, sensors, inverters (VFD), and control panels will be an added advantage.
• Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on production machinery.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, conveyors, motors, and pneumatic components.
• Familiar with electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
• Experience in using testing instruments such as multimeter, clamp meters, and insulation testers.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot/cold)
