About the role

JM JAS MAJU SERVICES (M) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Mechanical Draughtsman to join our Engineering team on a full-time basis. This position is based in Seremban 2, Negeri Sembilan and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and technical documentation of mechanical systems and components. As a Mechanical Draughtsman, you will play a crucial role in translating engineering concepts into precise technical drawings and specifications that guide manufacturing and construction processes. Your work will be essential to ensuring that all mechanical designs meet industry standards, safety requirements and project specifications.

What you'll be doing

• Create detailed mechanical drawings and technical documentation using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
• Prepare accurate technical specifications and bill of materials for mechanical components and assemblies
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to develop and refine design solutions
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, project managers and stakeholders
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant engineering standards, codes and regulatory requirements
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and filing systems for all technical drawings and project records
• Support the preparation of technical proposals and design presentations
• Identify and resolve drawing inconsistencies and design conflicts
• Assist with the coordination of drawings across multiple disciplines when required
• Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting processes and standards within the department

What we're looking for

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Draughtsmanship or a related discipline
• Proficiency in CAD software, with AutoCAD or similar programs being essential
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes and engineering tolerances
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings
• Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and drawing conventions (ISO, BS or equivalent)
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Problem-solving capability and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues
• Experience in the mechanical, manufacturing or construction industries would be advantageous
• Familiarity with 3D modelling software would be a valued additional skill
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
