Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical drawings, blueprints and construction documents using CAD software and traditional drafting techniques
• Interpret design briefs, sketches and specifications provided by senior engineers and designers
• Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings for woodwork components, assemblies and finished products
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness and compliance with technical standards and specifications
• Collaborate with engineering, design and production teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements
• Maintain and update drawing libraries, standards and documentation systems
• Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and assembly instructions based on technical drawings
• Assist in quality control by identifying potential design or manufacturing issues through detailed drawing analysis
• Support the modification and revision of existing drawings as required by project changes
• Communicate effectively with team members to clarify design intent and technical requirements

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Draughtsman to join YB Woodwork Industry (M) Sdn Bhd in Simpang Renggam, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in translating design concepts and engineering specifications into precise technical drawings and documentation. As a Draughtsman, you will be responsible for creating accurate construction and technical drawings that guide our manufacturing and assembly processes, ensuring quality and precision across all woodwork projects. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of our production teams and the overall quality of our deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical drawings, blueprints and construction documents using CAD software and traditional drafting techniques

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Engineering Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar industry-standard tools
• Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards, conventions and best practices
• Excellent spatial reasoning and attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Knowledge of woodworking and furniture manufacturing processes is advantageous
• Strong mathematical and measurement skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Previous experience in woodwork, furniture, or manufacturing drafting is preferred
• Familiarity with tolerance standards and precision requirements in manufacturing
