Job summary

Sun Yang Tech Sdn Bhd in Melaka is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our engineering team. This full-time role focuses on developing and designing mechanical systems and components that meet client requirements and industry standards.

You will work on diverse projects, perform CAD-based design work, run analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions from concept to manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design/manufacturing environment.
• Advanced CAD proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including stress analysis and materials selection.
• Familiarity with GD&T and ability to create engineering drawings to international standards.
• Experience with design validation, simulations or FEA is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings using CAD software.
• Conduct design analyses and simulations to verify function and durability.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs and manufacturing specialists to develop feasible solutions.
• Review technical specs and customer requirements to inform design development.
• Select materials and components based on application and cost considerations.
• Prepare documentation including drawings, BOMs and design reports.
• Support transition of designs from development to manufacturing.
