Job summary

Master Jaya Corporation in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design & Drafting Engineer to develop technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and 2D/3D models for steel fabrication and industrial equipment. You will coordinate with engineers and project managers, verify design details at site measurements, and ensure drawings meet company standards and deadlines.

Degree in mechanical engineering and 5 years of related experience are required; proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks,

Qualifications

• 5 years mechanical design & drafting experience related to steel fabrication and installation of industrial equipment & structures.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ZWCAD (2D & 3D) softwares.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality drawings within agreed timelines.
• Hands-on experience coordinating with project and production departments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, 2D & 3D digital models of mechanical equipment design based on measurements and engineering inputs.
• Coordinate directly with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and verify design details.
• Annotate and verify numerical designations and specs in drawings and schematics using CAD programs and manual calculations.
• Assist in designing, creating and testing production molds and layouts for production.
• Prepare and submit daily design and drafting reports and attend progress meetings.

Prepare technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, 2D & 3D digital models of mechanical equipment design based on measurements, specifications and engineering inputs.

Collect initial drawings, calculations and design concepts from engineers and consolidate all relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and revision.

To coordinate directly with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements, verify design details and recommend modifications as needed according to company standards and best practices, visit job sites when necessary to get accurate site measurements.

To annotate and verify all numerical designations and specifications in technical drawings and schematics, using both CAD programs and manual calculations when necessary.

To communicate with manufacturing personnel to create detailed layouts prior to production, and assist in designing, creating and testing production molds.

To provide support to the engineering team as needed by creating technical drawings and digital models within deadlines and utilizing multiple methods to ensure deliverables include all relevant design details.

To assist in ongoing projects to standardize and unify design document standards by participating in meetings and preparing presentation materials as necessary.

To prepare and submit daily design and drafting reports in a timely manner.

To search and investigate to comply with International Design Standards and Guidelines to adopt them into the design of our products, equipment and systems.

To attend weekly and monthly internal meeting to update project progress.

Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
