Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of global trade, shipping regulations, tariff codes and Incoterms.
• Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers.
• Proficient in SAP and MS Office; able to handle orders, shipping and invoicing.
• Strong English communication and data reporting skills.

Position

As a Materials Planner cum Import Export, you will oversee the end-to-end management of material forecasting, inventory control, and supplier coordination, while also managing import and export logistics to ensure compliance with international trade regulations. Collaborating closely with logistics, purchasing, engineering, and finance teams, your role is critical in optimizing supply chain efficiency, maintaining balanced inventory levels, and ensuring smooth cross-border movement of materials and products. You will also ensure compliance with company standards and promote continuous improvement in materials management and trade compliance processes.

Responsibilities

Regularly review and update material forecasts based on input from business units (BU) and actual sales data.

Maintain and monitor SAP data, including material master data, material requirements planning (MRP), and forecasts.

Develop production plans, create purchase and production orders, and track supplier deliveries.

Manage inventory levels, review safety stock requirements, and address slow-moving and end-of-production (EOP) materials.

Handle all import and export processes, including customs clearance, tariff classifications, and compliance with local and international trade regulations.

Prepare and maintain accurate shipping and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other required documents.

Work with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to arrange shipments and track deliveries, ensuring on-time performance.

Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers to optimize costs, transit times, and delivery reliability.

Collaborate with order administration, strategic purchasing, and engineering teams to align on material needs and process improvements.

Ensure supplier invoices are processed accurately and submitted to finance in a timely manner.

Maintain accurate records of all import/export transactions and related documents for audit purposes.

Actively contribute to the development of new processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Support cross-functional teams in identifying areas for improvement in material management and import/export systems.

Utilize data-driven insights to recommend adjustments to forecasting, inventory control, supplier relations, and trade compliance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

3-5 years of experience in materials planning, import/export, or logistics roles, ideally with exposure to both, including roles requiring independent work without backup support.

Proficient in production planning, MRP, and inventory control.

Strong knowledge of global trade and shipping regulations, customs processes, tariff codes, and Incoterms.

Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers.

Proficient in SAP and MS Office; comfortable with order entry, shipping, and invoicing processes.

Strong English communication skills, with experience in reporting and presenting data.

Experience managing high-mix, low-volume materials (e.g., electronics, specialized power tools) is advantageous.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
