Job summary

Ichia Technologies, INC. in Malaysia is seeking a Material Control Engineer to plan, monitor and control material flow, ensuring production has the right materials at the right time.

You will work with Purchasing, Production Planning, Warehouse, Logistics and Manufacturing to optimize inventory and reduce shortages. You will analyze usage and stock levels, set safety stock and reorder points, and support ERP/MRP transactions.

Qualifications

• Plan and monitor material requirements based on production schedules and customer demand.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and packaging for production.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and suppliers to resolve shortages and delivery issues.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimal stock to prevent overstocking or stock-outs.
• Analyze material usage, inventory accuracy, and movement to improve efficiency.
• Review planning parameters including safety stock, reorder points, and lead times.
• Collaborate with Production Planning to support production schedules and demand changes.
• Conduct inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies.
• Prepare material planning, inventory, and shortage reports for management review.
• Support ERP/MRP transactions and ensure data accuracy within the system.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory control and material management processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in material planning, inventory control, production planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of inventory management principles and production planning.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is an added advantage
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage.
