Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Marine Superintendent to base in Port Klang, Selangor. This contract role starts immediately and runs until July 2027, overseeing marine operations, safety compliance, and fleet performance.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Marine Engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, STCW with appropriate endorsements, and strong English/Bahasa Malaysia communication. Salary RM 11,000–RM 13,000 per month.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Marine Superintendent based in Port Klang, Selangor. The position is a contract role starting immediately until July 2027, where you will be responsible for overseeing marine operations, ensuring safety compliance, and managing the overall performance of our fleet.

Salary Package: RM 11,000 - RM 13,000/month

Job Descriptions

• Assist in providing technical support for all issues related to Buoy Tender Vessel (BTV) operations.
• Monitor and coordinate all complaints regarding equipment malfunctions on BTV vessels.
• Attend meetings and workshops related to technical issues in BTV vessel operations.
• Provide feedback to the officers regarding ship and company's boat management, planning, and repair projects.
• Review and provide comments, if necessary, upon receiving monthly reports from BTV vessels.
• Prepare ship docking specifications for BTV vessels together with the crew, six months before the vessel is due for docking.
• Assist officers in coordinating and monitoring docking works.
• Assist and provide information to officers regarding vessel expenditure issues.
• Carry out tasks assigned by the department from time to time.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Marine Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Marine Superintendent/Chief Engineer or in a similar marine operations role.
• Excellent command in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
• Possess a Certificate of Competency (COC) of at least Master of 3000 GT or more Unlimited Trade Voyages, or Chief Engineer of 3000 kW or more Unlimited Trade Voyages, in compliance with the International Convention on Standards, Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1995, post Manila Amendment 2010.
• Experience in ship management and extensive knowledge in the implementation of the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention (ISM Code).
• Basic knowledge in Bridge Resource Management, Engine Resource Management, and Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).
• Proven track record of successfully managing the maintenance and operations of a fleet of vessels.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant software.
