Job summary

Oceanwell Marine Sdn Bhd, based in Nusajaya with frequent travel to the Tanjung Pelepas port area, is seeking a responsible Boarding Officer. The role involves attending vessels on arrival and departure, coordinating with port authorities, and ensuring smooth port operations.

You will liaise with Masters, ship owners, and authorities, handle vessel documentation, monitor schedules, and arrange crew matters when required. Flexibility for after-hours work and travel is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM / Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in shipping, marine, port agency or vessel operations will be advantageous.
• Fresh graduates encouraged to apply.
• Willing to travel between Nusajaya and Tanjung Pelepas.
• Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Attend vessels upon arrival and departure at port.
• Coordinate vessel clearance, berthing, sailing and other port-related arrangements.
• Liaise with vessel Masters, ship owners, charterers, port authorities, terminals, immigration and customs.
• Handle and prepare vessel documentation and port clearance documents.
• Monitor vessel schedules and provide timely operational updates.
• Arrange crew matters, transportation, supplies and other vessel requirements when necessary.
• Ensure all vessel operations are handled efficiently and in accordance with port regulations and company procedures.
• Respond promptly to operational matters, including assignments outside normal office hours when required.
• Maintain proper records and submit operational reports after vessel attendance.

We are currently looking for a responsible, proactive and motivated Boarding Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending vessels at the Tanjung Pelepas area, coordinating with vessels, port authorities and other relevant parties, and ensuring smooth vessel arrival, departure and port operations. The position will be based at our Nusajaya office, with frequent travel to the Tanjung Pelepas port area as required.

About you

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Possess a valid driving licence and own transportation.

Willing to travel between Nusajaya and Tanjung Pelepas.

Willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays when vessel operations require.

Responsible, punctual and able to work independently.

Able to work under pressure and handle operational matters efficiently.
