Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a dedicated Purchasing professional to support marine and project operations in Johor. You will source materials, evaluate suppliers and issue purchase orders after approvals, while coordinating with teams to ensure timely delivery.

We value strong negotiation, English and Bahasa Malaysia communication, and the ability to manage multiple requests with MS Office proficiency. This on-site role offers growth in marine construction procurement and related admin duties.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, SCM, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience.
• Experience in marine, shipping, offshore, dredging, reclamation or construction preferred.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing procedures and supplier management.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple requests and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office, esp. Excel.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Independent and organized.
• Familiarity with marine equipment, spare parts and project materials is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials, equipment, spare parts and services for marine and project operations.
• Request quotations and compare pricing, quality, specs and delivery terms.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders after approvals.
• Negotiate prices and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Coordinate with project teams, site personnel, vendors and transport to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor outstanding purchase orders and follow up on delays.
• Maintain supplier records and price comparisons.
• Verify deliveries and invoices before payment.
• Identify and evaluate new suppliers when required.
• Handle urgent purchasing requests from the office and project sites.
• Perform other purchasing and administrative duties.
