Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a Purchasing Executive for an agile maritime team based in Johor. You will drive end-to-end procurement, manage vendor relationships, and secure spare parts, equipment, and services critical to vessel and port operations.

Responsibilities include requesting quotations, negotiating terms and lead times, issuing POs, tracking deliveries, evaluating supplier performance, and coordinating with technical superintendents, engineers, and logistics staff.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of procurement experience within maritime, shipping, shipyard, or offshore technical sectors.

Responsibilities

• Request quotations, conduct cost analyses, and negotiate optimal commercial terms and lead times.
• Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and track deliveries to ensure dockside and vessel deadlines are met.
• Evaluate vendor performance, cultivate supplier networks, and handle dispute resolutions.
• Coordinate closely with technical superintendents, vessel engineers, and logistics handlers.
• Maintain accurate procurement records in accordance with maritime safety and compliance standards.
