Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to operate plastic machining equipment and monitor quality per engineering drawings and schedules.

You will load materials, inspect parts with calipers and gauges, and document production data. Fresh graduates with relevant training are welcome, with emphasis on safety, 5S, and teamwork in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, start, operate, stop, and adjust plastic machining equipment per work instructions.
  • Inspect machined parts with measuring tools and verify dimensions.
  • Load raw materials and handle finished parts with proper traceability.
  • Perform routine maintenance and report malfunctions to maintenance team.
  • Record production output, downtime, and material usage in logs.

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for operating and monitoring plastic machining equipment to produce high-quality components in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and production schedules. The role ensures product quality, machine efficiency, safety compliance, and accurate production reporting while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, start, operate, stop, and adjust plastic machining equipment according to approved work instructions, engineering drawings, and production requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance and make routine adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
  • Load raw materials and unload finished parts while ensuring proper handling and traceability.
  • Perform tooling or fixture changes as required and verify machine readiness before production.
  • Inspect machined plastic components using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Verify product dimensions and visual appearance against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Identify non-conforming products and report quality issues promptly to the supervisor or Quality team.
  • Support first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with customer and company requirements.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance on machines and workstations.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, abnormal machine conditions, or tooling issues to the supervisor or maintenance team.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Comply with all company safety, health, environmental, and PPE requirements.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions at all times.
  • Record production output, downtime, material consumption, scrap, and rework accurately in production logs or manufacturing systems.
  • Report machine breakdowns, quality concerns, and production variances to the Production Supervisor.
  • Ensure production documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Requirement
  • Minimum SPM, SKM, Certificate, or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Technical certification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Machining, or a related discipline is an advantage.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating plastic machining or CNC machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in plastic fabrication, machining, or precision manufacturing is preferred.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant technical training may be considered.
  • Basic knowledge of plastic machining processes and manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Basic understanding of machine operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer literacy for production reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
