Job summary

Watlow Electric Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a technical production support professional to operate and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and drive process quality on the production line.

You will read drawings, interpret specifications, identify abnormalities, perform basic root-cause analysis, and support start-ups, changeovers, trials, and validations while contributing to continuous improvement and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Approximately 1–5 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, production support, or similar technical environment.
• Able to read engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.
• Able to use basic measuring and testing equipment.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and problem-solving methods.
• Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, adjust, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, process specifications, and technical documents.
• Identify process abnormalities, machine issues, dimensional variation, and product defects.
• Perform basic root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions under the direction of the Process Engineer or Supervisor.
• Support production during machine start-up, changeover, trial runs, new-product introduction, and process validation.
• Assist with machine maintenance, condition checks, tooling changes, and preventive-maintenance activities.
• Ensure that process parameters are correctly applied and maintained during production.
• Monitor process performance, reject rates, quality yield, downtime, and other key production indicators.
• Support continuous-improvement activities related to productivity, quality, safety, cost, and waste reduction.
• Record process deviations, equipment abnormalities, nonconforming products, and corrective actions.

Documentation Responsibilities

Record process deviations, equipment abnormalities, nonconforming products, and corrective actions.

Prepare or support documentation such as:

Work instructions and standard operating procedures, Process checklists, Setup sheets, Process trial and validation reports

Review production and quality data to identify recurring defects and process trends.

Ensure that only the latest approved documents are used at the production line.

Use Microsoft Excel or similar software for data entry, basic analysis, charts, and reporting.

About you

Minimum Qualifications

Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Approximately 1–5 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, production support, or a similar technical environment.

Able to read engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.

Able to use basic measuring and testing equipment.

Basic knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and problem‑solving methods.

Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Experience

Experience supporting First Article Inspection (FAI), new-product introduction, engineering builds, pilot runs, or process validation activities.
