Cohu, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Manufacturing Leader to translate strategic priorities into measurable KPIs and actionable work plans.
You will define manufacturing strategies, ensure resources and capacity meet portfolio requirements, and drive on-time delivery with a focus on quality and cost efficiency. You will lead cross-functional teams across procurement, engineering and finance, fostering a safe, productive environment while implementing 5S, Kanban and Kaizen to sustain continuous
Contribute to the successful execution of the company’s annual plan and translate business priorities into clear manufacturing objectives. Establish, monitor and control department KPIs, ensuring clear ownership, timely reviews and corrective actions where required. Define manufacturing strategies, standard rules, work procedures and operating rhythms that support quality, lead-time, cost and delivery performance. Ensure resources, capacity andmanpowerplans are aligned with portfolio requirements and on-time delivery commitments.
Lead world-class manufacturing practices and continuously improve manufacturing processes, flow, productivity, leadtimeand cost performance. Partner with Procurement, Project, Engineering, Industrialization, HR, Finance and other departments to implement company policies, goals and cross-functional improvements. Select, maintain and improve manufacturing equipment, tools and work areas so that teams can perform their tasks safely, effectively and efficiently. Implement and sustain effective 5S, Kanban and Kaizen practices across the manufacturing organization.
Implement and enforce quality control programs to meet qualityobjectivesand support zero-defectinitiatives. Analyze manufacturing and quality records toidentifyissues,eliminaterootcausesand prevent recurrence. Drive documented preventive actions and continuous quality improvements across manufacturing processes. Ensure the team complies with company directives, safe work procedures and work instructions to protect product quality and customer deliverables.
Provide strong leadership by coaching,trainingand developing a high-performing manufacturing team. Monitor employee performance and implement appropriate interventions, including skills-matrix management, training, welfare support, career development, promotion readiness, job enrichment and team-behaviour improvement. Promote collaboration, accountability,disciplineand effective communication across all levels of the manufacturing organization. Support a positive,safeand productive working environment while ensuring adherence to health and safety procedures.
Set and control department budgets in alignment with business priorities and operational needs. Manage manufacturing cost improvement initiatives while balancing quality,deliveryand resource requirements. Carry out other assignments asrequiredto support business needs.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineeringora relatedfield. Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing management or capital-equipment maintenance. Proven managerial and people-leadership experience in an organization with more than 50 employees. Flexible,adaptableand willing to adjust to business priorities and company needs. Proactive personality with a curious mindset and strong willingness to learn. Able to analyze and solve complex manufacturing and operational problems. Excellent communication,collaborationand teamwork skills across all organizational levels. IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel,PowerPoint and Power BI. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix organization. Working knowledge of health and safety regulations.
