Celestica is seeking an Engineer, Manufacturing Equipment to support development, sourcing and deployment of equipment for manufacturing operations. The role involves maintaining, testing and validating tools, driving uptime, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on process improvements.

The Engineer, Manufacturing Equipment is responsible for the development and/or sourcing of manufacturing equipment to support manufacturing operations goals. Scope of job may include design and development of equipment, qualification, deployment to manufacturing, improving performance and supporting programs to optimize efficiencies while maintaining a safe working environment.
Perform routine, preventative, and predictive maintenance (PM/RCM/TPM) on equipment to minimize unplanned downtime
Execute Real-Time Problem Solving (RTPS) for line downtime and manage line backlog recovery strategies with cross-functional teams
Manage the Repair & Maintenance (RNM) budget for machine maintenance, spare parts replacement, and component obsolescence evaluations
Oversee tool testing, component characterization for New Product Introductions (NPI), and material validations
Maintain and update engineering manuals, safety protocols, spare parts inventory, and tooling
Lead 8D problem-solving initiatives for quality issues and ensure timely reporting and escalation to customers
Partner with Quality teams on weekly internal audits, driving continuous improvement through Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
Review project engineering work with a focus on cost reduction, downtime minimization, yield enhancement, and scrap/kout reduction
Serve as the primary technical interface for clients: communicate downtime timelines, project status, test results, and service plans
Lead and support customer audits, including Gap Assessments, CMQS, and PCL1/PCL2 (for NPI products)
At least 3 years experience as an equipment engineer in manufacturing industry preferably electronics
Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
