Job summary

Translation and Interpretation Services Company in Malaysia seeks an interpreter for a 100% work-from-home role, handling Cantonese-English-Cantonese consecutive interpretation for live doctor-patient, banker and client conversations.

Night shift rotates monthly (8 hours per shift, 40 hours weekly minimum). Must be bilingual with English at CEFR B2 level and able to work remotely on a permanent basis.

Qualifications

• Explain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication.
• B2 CEFR English level bilingual with other required languages.

Responsibilities

• Provide language interpretation between languages for individuals with barriers.
• Handle telephone or video calls on demand for consecutive interpretation between English and other languages.
• Be fast, concise and culturally aware, maintaining professionalism.
• Use industry terminology and understand common procedures across healthcare, finance, government and business sectors.

Client: Translation and Interpretation Services Company

Position: Interpreter (100% Work from Home) (Hiring Malaysians only)

Language: Cantonese-English-Cantonese

Location: Work From Home (Based in Malaysia)

Job Scope: Consecutive interpretation- Live conversation Doctor & Patient, Banker and client etc...

Working Hours: 100% night shift that changes monthly. Entry points can be any hour from 7pm, 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12am, 1am, 2am, 3am etc. (8 hours online per shift, 40 hours online per week MINIMUM)

Salary: Basic package up to RM6000 - RM6800

Qualifications

• Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy
• Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective
• Ability to quickly establish personal credibility
• Ability to follow client's instructions closely
• Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication

• B2 CEFR English Level bilingual with other required languages
• Able to work from home on a permanent basis

Responsibilities

• Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individual with language barrier to understand and communicate to each other
• Handling telephone or video calls on demand and renders meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of English
• Processes information quickly and concisely, recognizes sensitive cultural differences, and is always professional and courteous
• The interpreter will use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices. The calls may involve simple or complex, non-technical or technical subjects in Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.
