TECAN CDMO SOLUTIONS PN SDN. BHD. is looking for a senior Materials Management leader to oversee strategic procurement, planning, sourcing engineers, and warehouse operations, ensuring cost-effective material availability across Tecan platforms.
You will build viable supplier relationships, optimize supplier portfolios, and develop the sourcing strategy in close collaboration with Global Supply Chain. International sourcing experience is a plus, with focus on delivering high delivery readiness.
Management of Tecan Materials Management with the functions of strategic procurement, sourcing engineers, planning & operational procurement, goods receipt and warehouse with the goal of ensuring cost-effective material availability to guarantee the delivery readiness of Tecan platforms, instruments, modules, and spare parts.
By applying appropriate tools, build/maintain viable and sustainable supplier relationships and ensure an optimized supplier portfolio that meets the applicable QSR requirements.
Technical and administrative leadership of the supervisors of the Planning & Purchasing group, Goods Receipt & Warehouse, the Materials Management group, and the Sourcing Engineers.
Creation, monitoring, and adherence to cost center budgets, initiating appropriate measures in case of deviations.
Development and evaluation of relevant key figures, as well as initiating and monitoring any necessary measures.
Building up, ensuring, and continuously developing the necessary know-how and methodology for the entire Materials Management area through continuous training and further education.

Production and material planning, procurement of external value creation, and warehouse management with the goal of highest delivery readiness and material availability with increased inventory turnover.
Continuous cost, lead time, and opportunity management as well as reduction of complexity along the entire supply chain. Negotiations to reduce purchase prices (direct & indirect spend) and replenishment times as well as cost avoidance.
Creation and further development of the sourcing strategy, contract system, guidelines, tools, processes, etc. in close coordination with Global Supply Chain Management and adjacent disciplines.
Procurement market research through analysis of the potential supplier market and classification of potential suppliers.
Supplier management: supplier selection, supplier qualification, and maintenance of the supplier portfolio (supplier optimization, change, partnership with strategic suppliers, contract design and implementation, forecasting,. ..) and determination of selection criteria.
Development of new forms of 'Supplier collaboration' i.e. electronic data exchange, extranet, VMI, etc.
Proactive involvement (early involvement) in R&D projects (Design to Cost, Design to Manufacturing and SCM Design, Design for lean, design for quality, process cost models) as well as making 'Make versus Buy' decisions.
Establishment of Category Management (Modules, Sheet metals, PCBA, mechanics,. ..)
Leadership responsibility for the Planning & Buying group, goods receipt & warehouse, and the employees of the Supply Management group. (Direct staff management and indirect leadership responsibility.)
Responsible for Materials Management (all material flows to, at, and from suppliers, strategic and operational purchasing), production and material planning, goods receipt, and warehouse.
Securing knowledge from the procurement market and from suppliers.
Cost center budget creation and budget responsibility for the cost centers in Materials Management.
Demonstrate leadership and commitment to all aspects of the QMS.
Ensure the availability of resources so that the execution and implementation of quality policies and their objectives are guaranteed.
Ensure the integration of the QMS into the organization's business processes.
Responsibility for the effectiveness of the QMS.
Responsible for achieving group goals and overarching departmental objectives.
Ensure cost-effective material availability (opportunities) while considering risks (commitments) with minimal lot sizes. Low financial commitments to suppliers (obsolescence), low inventory, low WIP.
Sustainable supplier relationships and an optimized supplier portfolio.
All procurement processes, costs, delivery times, delivery reliability, delivery quality, accurate information, etc.
Planning, coordination, organization, and efficient execution as well as self-monitoring of assigned tasks and orders within the defined guidelines/competencies.
