Job summary

TECAN CDMO Solutions PN SDN. BHD. seeks a technical support specialist to assist customers with component research and lifecycle management, including EOL considerations and supplier coordination.

Close collaboration with Engineering and QA will ensure compliance and timely updates in the MRP system. The role involves evaluating datasheets, proposing substitutions for components, and addressing customer requests on time while supporting new product development and quotes where cost down is

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma with 5 years experience or Degree with no experience required.
• Qualified/skilled in Electro-Mechanical Engineering BOM, drawings, datasheets and component selection.
• Good understanding of MRP systems and BOM management.
• Interpersonal skills and awareness of GDP, FDA and ISO audit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers for component research and lifecycle management.
• Communicate with Engineering, suppliers and customers to resolve component enquiries and approvals.
• Ensure ROHS/REACH compliance and coordinate MPN/AVL updates in the MRP system.
• Review datasheets and advise on PCBA design compatibility for new products and life cycle changes.
• Manage communications on PCN and EOL parts; assist in new product development and quotes.

Job description

Overall responsible for technical support to customers to perform component research and participate in component life cycle and evaluation, technical advice and introduction of phase-in of new and EOL(End of Life) MPN into MRP system. Communicate with customer, internal and external team pertaining to enquiry of component, approval and to meet the technical specifications and quality requirement according to customer requirement.

Communicate and provide support to customers to perform component research and participate in component life cycle and evaluation of alternative components with the Engineering team.

Communicate with supplier to identify and resolve lifecycle issues and obtain customer’s approval to identify appropriate resources and substitutes for alternative components.

Analyze and develop solutions associated with obsolete components (EOL) and supply delivery issues. Coordinate in evaluation with the Engineering team.

Ensure and monitor compliance of components to ROHS/REACH/compliances and coordinate with the team on the MRP update with AVL (Approve Vendor List) and MPN (Manufacturing Part Number).

Technical review and interpret component datasheets and evaluate for product application at technical level. Provide the info to customer and Engineering for process study and suitability on PCBA design.

Administer and manage communication on PCN(Part Change Notice), component proposals to customers and alert the team on EOL parts.

Work towards providing innovative and informative improvements to Customer Satisfaction level in relation to product development and lifecycle. This includes addressing the needs and requests from customers on time, introducing new ideas for product improvement and participating in new product development and quote on new projects and where cost down is applicable. 1 INTERNAL JOB VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT 2

System setup and data validation from MRP and other supporting systems; and housekeep data integrity.

Assist Section Manager on implementation of improvement activities and projects assigned that contribute to the Core Values of the company.

Education

Preferred Diploma with 5 years of experience.

Degree – no experience needed.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

Qualified/skilled in Electro=Mechanical Engineering BOM, drawings, technical datasheets and component selection.

Good understanding on how MRP system works.

Data analyze and comparison of datasheet.

Good interpersonal skills, GDP and wide knowledge corresponding with audit on FDA and ISO standards.
