TECAN CDMO SOLUTIONS PN SDN. BHD. seeks a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to lead procurement initiatives, develop sourcing strategies, and optimize total cost of ownership while ensuring quality and delivery performance across Asia.
You will collaborate with NPI, production, planning, quality, and finance teams to strengthen supplier relationships, manage contracts, and drive cost reduction through strategic sourcing and supplier audits.
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist leads strategic procurement initiatives by formulating and implementing sourcing strategies that enhance supply chain resilience, optimize total cost of ownership, and secure reliable access to high-quality materials and services. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional stakeholders to manage supplier performance and contracts, mitigate supply risks, and support the company’s long-term operational and business objectives.
In addition, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist supports the Strategic Supply Chain Manager in developing a robust and sustainable supplier base in Asia to strengthen both regional and global supply chain operations.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers to ensure they meet the company’s quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity for goods and services.
Manage the procurement process, including price negotiation, contract terms, and supplier agreements to achieve best value for the organization.
Maintain supplier database and SAP master data, ensuring all relevant fields (e.g., price, country of origin, HS code) are up to date; keep records of quotations and sourcing reports.
Prepare and issue framework orders as needed.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers; monitor their performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance.
Analyze total cost of ownership and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Evaluate supplier capabilities in terms of capacity, quality, technical compliance, and delivery performance.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as NPI, production, planning, quality, and finance teams to understand requirements.
Participate in supplier audits and support internal and external quality investigations as required.
Ensure all procurement and sourcing activities comply with Tecan policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
Maintain accurate, complete, and auditable procurement records and documentation.
Ensure procurement activities effectively meet the needs and expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
Support and promote the company’s sustainability and social responsibility objectives through responsible sourcing practices.
Execute global and regional sourcing strategies, including localization, insourcing, and dual-sourcing initiatives.
Bachelor’s or higher diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, or sourcing, preferably in a multinational environmen
Good knowledge of procurement and supplier presence in Asia.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and multicultural management skills.
Proficiency in MS office (Word, excel etc.,)
Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
Knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes, tools, and software.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
