Job summary

Lotuss Stores Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Manager Fresh to oversee the fresh departments at KSL City, Johor. This full-time role focuses on quality, presentation and profitability of fresh produce, meat, seafood and bakery while ensuring exceptional customer service.

You will lead the fresh team, manage stock, monitor safety standards and drive departmental targets. The position reports to Store Management and requires a hands-on leader with strong retail and people skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing fresh departments in retail.
• Proven track record in achieving sales targets and profitability.
• Strong knowledge of fresh produce, meat, seafood and bakery products.
• Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Leadership and ability to motivate staff.
• Proficient in retail management systems and POS technology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of fresh departments including produce, meat, seafood and bakery sections.
• Manage inventory levels, stock rotation and waste reduction to maximise profitability and minimise shrinkage.
• Ensure all fresh merchandise meets quality standards and is displayed attractively to promote sales.
• Monitor food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Train, supervise and motivate fresh department staff to deliver excellent customer service.
• Analyse sales performance and implement strategies to achieve departmental targets and KPIs.
• Manage supplier relationships and coordinate deliveries to ensure consistent product availability.
• Conduct regular price checks and ensure accurate labelling and promotional signage throughout the department.
• Address customer concerns and complaints professionally to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Report to Store Management on departmental performance, challenges and opportunities for improvement.

About the role

Lotuss Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Manager Fresh to join our team in the KSL City, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing our fresh produce, meat, seafood and bakery departments. As Manager Fresh, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality, presentation, and profitability of our fresh merchandise whilst ensuring exceptional customer service standards are consistently met. This position is integral to delivering the high-quality fresh product experience that our customers expect from Lotuss Stores.

What we're looking for

Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing fresh departments in a retail environment, preferably in a supermarket or hypermarket setting

Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing profitability in fresh produce operations

Strong knowledge of fresh produce, meat, seafood and bakery products, including quality assessment and storage requirements

Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene and handling standards relevant to fresh merchandise

Leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

Strong organisational and time management abilities to juggle multiple priorities effectively

Proficiency in retail management systems and point-of-sale technology

Flexibility to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays as required

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
