Job summary

IJM Corporation Berhad is seeking a senior finance leader to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, taxation and statutory compliance across the group. You will monitor performance, manage cash flow and ensure timely closing while upholding high standards of accuracy.

The role requires a strong track record in construction industry finance, 10+ years PQE, and leadership to develop the accounting team and strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or recognised professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/MIA).
• 10+ years post-qualification experience; construction industry experience advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting standards, taxation and statutory reporting.

Job description

Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, taxation and statutory compliance.

Monitor financial performance, cash flow, outstanding collections and budget variances to support effective financial management.

Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing, accurate financial statements and compliance with applicable accounting standards.

Strengthen internal controls, improve accounting processes and ensure effective financial risk management.

Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers and relevant stakeholders on financial, audit and statutory matters.

Provide financial analysis, insights and recommendations to senior management to support business planning and decision-making.

Oversee and develop the accounting team, ensuring operational efficiency, accountability and continuous improvement.

Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, safety and quality standards.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or a recognised professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent. MIA membership is an advantage.

10 years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in the construction industry, with proven team management experience.

Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting standards, taxation, statutory reporting and internal controls.

Good understanding of construction accounting, project financial management, cash flow management and contract-related financial matters.

Familiarity with Malaysian financial regulations, statutory requirements and business practices.

Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with effective communication abilities.
