Job summary

SCHOTT Glass (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a Product Yield Engineer to support the Product Engineer in driving yield improvements during development and NPI for new optical components.

You will work cross-functionally with Design, Process Integration, and Quality teams to improve first-pass yield, review drawings, establish BOMs, and maintain product documentation, aligning with manufacturing milestones.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in product, process or test engineering
• Knowledge and interest in optical components
• Proficiency with data analysis, DOE, and statistics
• Problem solving methods
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Target driven with high execution focus
• Experience in yield engineering, process integration or semiconductor/optical industry advantageous

Responsibilities

• Assist Product Engineer for all product engineering activities which will support the product yield/quality improvement
• Work cross-functionally with multiple groups including Design, Product Engineering, Process Integration, Process Development, Modeling, Failure Analysis and Quality teams to drive first pass yield improvement on new products, identify and resolve issues
• Review customer drawings & specification together with Product Engineer for new product release
• Assist Product Engineer to establish bill of material list in order to ensure on time availability, quality & cost based on new product scheduling as well as consumption per unit
• Close collaboration with cross-functional team to coordinate transfer or initiate conceptual design to production phase
• Understand the product development process and related procedure to support project milestones from technical and manufacturing standpoint
• Establish & maintain all product related documentation list
