SCHOTT Glass (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a seasoned Lean Excellence Engineer to lead Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. You will translate business priorities into measurable improvements in cost, productivity, quality, and performance across the organization.

With 5–8 years in manufacturing or OE, you will drive cross-functional projects, develop productivity dashboards, and validate benefits with stakeholders while advancing continuous improvement capabilities.

Job description

To lead the deployment of Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing initiatives, translating business priorities and performance gaps into measurable and sustainable improvements in cost, productivity, quality and operational performance. The role also drives cost-saving governance, cross-functional project execution, benefit validation and continuous improvement capability development across the organization.

Key responsibilities

Lead and coordinate LMT and productivity improvement projects.

Identify opportunities for labor productivity, cycle time reduction, waste elimination, and process optimization.

Develop and maintain a portfolio of improvement projects to achieve annual cost-saving targets.

Monitor project progress, risks, and gap closure activities.

Establish and maintain savings calculation methodologies and benefit-tracking standards.

Validate project benefits together business stakeholders.

Develop and maintain productivity dashboards and operational performance reports.

Analyze operational data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.

Lead the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Drive continuous improvement activities using Lean, Kaizen, Problem Solving, and other OE methodologies.

About you

Minimum 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Operational Excellence.

Proven experience in leading cross-functional improvement projects.

Experience in productivity improvement and cost‑saving programs.

Experience in data analysis and performance management.

Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence principles.

Understanding of manufacturing processes, productivity improvement and cost‑saving methodologies.

Knowledge of problem‑solving.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Good communication and presentation skills.
